General Lawn Maintenance with Organic Fertilizer (3-0-2 Alfalfa Green)

   Option 2: One application at full rate applied early spring (early April to mid                     May)

Detailed Application Rates Of Fertilizer

10-6-4  Quick Release Nitrogen – 20 kg bag covers 4,300 sq ft      

  • Contains quick release nitrogen and will feed lawn for up to 6 weeks
  • Suggested rate: 4.65 kg. per 1,000 sq. ft or 93 sq meters
  • Apply after ground thaws to mid May to boost lawn (use less than suggested rate to avoid excessive growth)
  • Apply at full rate in September. (Fall application is actually more important than spring)

 

21-7-7  Slow Release Nitrogen – 20 kg bag covers 9,250 sq ft          
                  (contains 50 % Sulphur Coated Urea (SCU)

  • Contains a slow release nitrogen which will feed the lawn for up to 12 weeks
  • Suggested rate: 2.15 kg per 1,000 sq ft  or 93 sq meters
  • Apply from mid June until mid July

 

5.5-26-30  Starter – 25 kg bag covers 9,500 sq ft       

  • Encourages root growth and development and increases overall hardiness
  • A “starter” fertilizer which is best worked into the soil before laying sod or seeding
  • Can be broadcast over sod after installation if not worked into soil first
  • Apply on established lawn in October & up to freeze up to fortify plant for winter
  • Apply at a rate of 2.6 kg per 1,000 sq ft  or 93 sq meters

 

16-4-4  Weed & Feed   -  25 kg bag   covers 9,000 sq ft          
             (contains Par 111 – 2 4 D, Dicamba & Mecoprop)

  • Contains slow release nitrogen and will feed lawn for up to 12 weeks
  • Suggested rate: 2.78 kg. per 1,000 sq. ft or 93 sq meters
  • Apply end of May or June after weeds are actively growing (controls broad leaf weeds, but not grasses)
  • Apply when grass blades are dry and no expected rain for 48 hours
  • Can also be applied in the fall, around mid September

 

14-4-8  Crabgrass Control  (contains Dimension & 50% SCU)– 25 kg bag covers 10,000 sq ft

  • Contains a slow release nitrogen which will feed the lawn for up to 12 weeks
  • Pre-emergent rate (late March to late April): 2.5 kg covers 1,000 sq ft or 93 sq meters
  • Post emergent rate (mid-June or up to third leaf stage): 2.5 kg covers 675 sq ft or 63 sq meters
  • Note: You cannot seed for up to 90 days after application

14-4-8  Crabgrass Control  (contains Dimension & 33% SCU)– 9 kg bag covers 2,773 sq ft

  • Contains a slow release nitrogen which will feed the lawn for up to 12 weeks
  • Pre-emergent rate (late March to late April): 9 kg covers 2,773 sq ft or 260 sq m.
  • Post emergent rate (mid-June or up to third leaf stage): 9 kg covers 2,142 sq ft or 200 sq m.
  • Note: You cannot seed for up to 90 days after application

 

3-0-2   Organic Alfalfa Green - 6 kg bag covers 500 sq ft 
                                                   - 22.7 kg bag covers 2,000 sq ft 

  • A certified organic product which contains 100% plant protein.
  • May be used as a starter or lawn and garden fertilizer.
  • Apply at rate of 12 – 22.7 kg per 1,000 sq ft or 93 sq meters per season
  • Apply all of it at once in early spring or apply ½ in early spring, ¼ in late spring and ¼ in mid summer.
  • Water immediately after application to initiate pellet breakdown.
